After, five years of a long break, we will finally see Shah Rukh Khan again on the big screen. Yash Raj Films launches the teaser of ‘Pathaan’ on King Khan’s 57th birthday. Pathaan is set to be released on 25th January 2023, right before India’s 74th Republic Day.
Pathaan’s cast includes stars like Shah Rukh Khan as the main lead in the movie along with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham as we can see in the trailer. The director of the movie- Pathaan is Siddharth Anand. Pathaan seems to be an action and spy-thriller, a genre that Shah Rukh Khan will be returning to after a long time. The last time we saw Shah Rukh Khan brilliantly portray a character of an undercover spy was in ‘Main Hoon Na‘ as ‘Major Ram Prasad Sharma’ in the year 2004, a movie by ‘Farah Khan‘.
Shah Rukh Khan portrays the character of RAW Agent Feroz Pathaan. The roles of Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are yet unknown. There is also ‘Ashutosh Rana‘ in the movie who will play the role of ‘Colonel Sunil Luthra’ who reprises his role from ‘War‘. Actors like Dimple Kapadia, Gautam Rode, Shaji Chaudhary (famously known for his role as Maqbool in the web series – Mirzapur) and Gavie Chahal.
Salman Khan is also rumored to appear in the movie along with Hrithik Roshan. As of know it is not confirmed if it is true but these two superstars could be reprising their roles of Tiger and Kabir from their movies ‘Ek Tha Tiger (film series)’ and ‘War‘ as both of them are under the same production house- Yash Raj Films and could be set in the same ‘Spy Universe’.
Review:
In the trailer, we see Agent Feroz Khan being tortured in an abandoned area and later he starts a fight with the agents who were beating him. In the background, we hear two people have a conversation about Feroz Khan being dead and being tortured to death. Then in the next shot, we see Feroz saying that he is alive. These were the only dialogues in the entire teaser, next we see Feroz in an action sequence. Later we see a shot of Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. And a few action sequences after that.
At last, we get the release date of the movie which is set to be released on 25th January 2023.

As Shah Rukh Khan returns to Hindi Cinema and Bollywood, he is said to be the last hope who could revive Bollywood again after the downfall Bollywood faced after the pandemic. Now the questions are, can he deliver the performance of the great extent to which he has always been known for?
