Review:
The main attraction of this entire series, when the trailer came out, was that Guy Ritchie was involved. Whenever Guy Ritchie is tied to any gang or mob-related project, you can trust it will be entertaining.
The cast is just as impressive. Of course, Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren are big names, but if you’re familiar with British or even Irish content, you’ll spot some great actors from those circles too.
The writers and creators did a fantastic job of bringing us a gripping story about mobs and gangs. The show doesn’t focus on money-making schemes but dives into the aftermath and the politics that happen behind the scenes. And to handle all the messes, Harry Da Souza, played by Tom Hardy, steps in.
Not everything about the series is good or bad, so let’s talk about it in the sections below.

5 things I liked about Mobland:
- One thing I loved about this series is how it captures the balance between immature and responsible manliness. Harry, Kevin, and sometimes even Richie come off as the steady, reliable types—guys you’d want on your side. Meanwhile, Eddie and Conrad bring out that reckless, unpredictable energy. It’s a dynamic that feels true to life, showing both sides of masculinity that exist in the real world.
- I really enjoyed the subtle humor in this series. It’s not in-your-face, but it’s there in the quick one-liners, the little smirks between characters, and the way some scenes are framed. It gives the show some much-needed lightness without turning it into a comedy.
- It’s been a while since we’ve seen Tom Hardy take on such a serious, grounded role. He brings a raw intensity to Harry Da Souza that really anchors the show. Pierce Brosnan nails his role as a man who’s lost his grip on reality. You can feel his pain and confusion, and it makes his character more than just a cliché old mob boss.
- The show keeps you on edge. The tension and intensity builds from scene to scene, making it hard to look away. Even when things slow down, you know something big is coming, and that anticipation is one of the best parts of the series.
- I loved how the series keeps you guessing with its unpredictable storyline and disturbing revelations. The story weaves between the Harrigans, Richie, the cops, and different mob factions, creating a tangled web of alliances and betrayals. One of the most disturbing but gripping parts was the way Conrad uses every woman around him in his own family. It’s dark but adds a powerful layer to the show’s tension.

5 things I disliked about Mobland:
- I couldn’t shake the feeling that Mobland often treads familiar ground, very much similar to The Gentlemen. While that’s not necessarily bad, it made parts of the show feel a bit repetitive or less fresh, especially if you’ve seen Ritchie’s earlier work.
- The series moves pretty quickly, especially with so many characters popping up randomly. It gets a bit overwhelming trying to keep track of everyone, which sometimes pulls me out of the story.
- I feel like the show could’ve benefited from more character buildup and a deeper dive into their pasts. Some storylines felt rushed or incomplete, which made it harder to connect with certain characters or care about their journeys.
- From episode 6 onwards, the pace really slowed down and didn’t quite deliver on the hype the show had been building up to. It felt like it lost some momentum and missed the chance to keep me fully hooked.
- With so many characters introduced, it sometimes felt like the creators were trying to do too much at once. This overcrowding made it harder to focus on the main story and gave less screen time to characters who deserved more development.
